It's a miracle that I still manage to squeeze in a blogpost or two lately despite the super busy schedule, you don't know how much I miss blogging! Anyway, I know it's been so long since my last Carinn x OOTD post, so happy to be back with another one from my recent trip to Malacca - an all black outfit this time that serves a double purpose.

Since the aim is to look simple yet appealing, black & white are the easiest colours to play around with. I simply paired this tee with a pair of pleather shorts and boots to bring out the element of 'coolness' that the tee brings. You'll realise that I love to cuff the sleeves on my t-shirts most of the time to hide the fact that they are too big (haha), and also to add more texture to the look. I find the most interesting part of the shirt is the slashed out names of the drugs at the back. Simple accessories like a bucket bag, choker and shades are enough to complement this minimalistic look. Notice that I did add an element of colour as well with the printed socks!

There's a new streetwear in town made for the Malaysian youth community. The word 'Aestheterati' is a combination of the words 'aesthete' and 'literati', which debut to the world only once in the New York magazine circa in 1996. AESTHETERATI is an independent clothing line which represent our generation, the youth who possesses great taste in enjoyment, fashion and lifestyle. Minimalist design in monochromatic colours are on the rise as other streetwear brands are carrying this simple yet aesthetic concept as well. I admit, I can't help but to find myself being drawn to these colours as well lately. But what makes AESTHETERATI stands out?

Here's where it gets interesting. AESTHETERATI invites youth to dress to kill and avoid drug abuse trend by raising awareness against drug abuse and it's harm among the young generation. Since drug use is seen as a trend and element of 'coolness' now, the 'Dope Dealer' products, namely phone cover and t-shirt, are designed at the same time to raise the same awareness and to counter the drug abuse trend. Only launched recently in August 2015, the signature t-shirt 'Dope Dealer' is an awareness symbol of the highly rising drug abuse in Malaysian youth today, which is why I think it's one of the local brands worth supporting!

I love how simple the packaging is, yet so photo-worthy at the same time. And there's even a mini surprise for my readers!
