A few days ago, I posted about A Checklist of Qualities a Good Prom Dress Shop should have. Today, we'll be focusing on the service part instead of the physical product part instead. For my overseas readers, don’t waste your time shopping at prom dress stores that offer subpar
service. Today we discuss the qualities a great prom dress store should have.
Prom is just a few months away and it’s that time of the year again
where you spend countless hours at different dress shops looking for the
perfect dress to wear.

Because there are already too many dress shops everywhere, it might be easier for you to simply move on to another store if you don’t find what you like. And it’s only right since this pushes retail dress stores to step up their service and attract more customers.
As a smart buyer, you shouldn’t just consider the selection available
but also the service that the store provides. How do you know? Well, a little
research goes a long way. It doesn’t matter if they’ve got the perfect dress
for you. If they don’t allow returns or exchanges after you find out it’s a
size too small, well, that’s too bad.
This is why it’s important to evaluate what they can do for you besides
just sell you a dress. Below we list the reasons why it matters where you buy
your prom dress.
1. Choices
The more choices a
shop has, the better. It means you don’t have to go from one store to another
just to find what you’re looking for. Of course, you don’t want to be
overwhelmed with too many choices so it helps if the store has a friendly staff
who can assist you in searching for a dress whether it be by style, colour,
designer or fit.
A good example of a
shop that has this is Peaches Boutique. Countless prom dress styles for 2016 are available at Peaches Boutique but their staff can narrow down the choices for you if you already have
a style in mind.
2. Return Policies
Before
purchasing from a prom dress store, be sure to check their policy on returns
and exchanges. No matter how nice the dress is, if they don’t allow returns or
exchanges, you’re better off finding a dress somewhere else. The online store
or brick and mortar store should allow you to return your dress provided it
doesn’t have any damage in it right after you got it.
3. Quality
Nip slips,
wedgies, peekaboo’s – wardrobe malfunctions can happen. But they can be minimised or avoided completely if you have
a quality dress on you. Don’t settle for dress shops that offer too many cheap
selections. There’s a reason why they’re cheap. Only buy from dress stores that
work with manufacturers that supply quality dresses. You might even want to go
to the store instead of shopping online so you can gauge the quality of the
dress in person. It saves time and allows you to choose a dress with better
quality.
4. Low Price Guarantee
Prom dress stores are
getting more competitive each year. If they’re good at what they do and they
have close connections with big manufacturers, they could offer you a low price
guarantee. If they offer quality, choice, a good return and exchange policy,
and a low price guarantee, then you have found yourself a reliable online store or brick and
mortar store. Don’t look for your dress elsewhere and stick to
this store.
If you do happen to
find a cheaper dress at another store, the store that offers the low price
guarantee will match that price. Read the policy carefully to make sure you
qualify for this guarantee.
In Conclusion…
Those are just some
of the things that you should look for in a prom dress shop. Don’t just settle
for any boutique and go for the one that can offer you the best service. What
else did I miss? Let me know in the comments!
