Carinn x Invisalign: My Teeth Hurts! :(

I don't know about you guys but I don't really have a fear of going to the dentist since I was young. In fact, going on this Invisalign journey has made me actually look forward to going to the dentist because I feel so refreshed after each visit. Probably cos I know my teeth is on its way to getting nicer and straighter XD #vainlikethat. Even though my usual trips now consist of just doing teeth slimming and regular check-ups. I don't really like the feeling of having your teeth 'sanded' (read here) and also the numbness after putting numbing gel, but I'll live! Just some quick updates on my teeth status lately. I have more time on my hands now, so I'll try to drop by the clinic as often as I can.

I have recently changed to using these 6.5mm elastics as opposed to the 4.5mm ones that I've been using before this. My orthodontist suggested that I use these as they are somewhat heavier and apply more pressure on my upper row of teeth to pull them backwards. It is to reduce my overbite and although my jaw feels tired from wearing them most of the time (I can't open my mouth too wide with these on), it it still helpful.

Also, my two front teeth have been hurting lately (I get sharp pains when I drink hot or cold drinks), so I thought it was just because they were moving hence they feel weaker. From a conversation with a friend who is a dentistry student that day, I found out that it's actually because I've been using my Opalescence Teeth Whitening Kit for a month and that's why my teeth hurt.. The chemical is too strong and caused the enamel to start wearing down, hence my teeth is ultra sensitive now. So silly right >< Haha. I've stopped using it now and I try not to touch my teeth nor brush too hard. She also encouraged me to use toothpaste for sensitive teeth. It's sorta working now, I hope I can have hot or cold drinks soon when the sensitivity goes away! Lesson learnt.

An update from my orthodontist, the 40+ on my aligner packet means that my full treatment is not fixed and I might have to extend it and do some refinement until we get the desired results, i.e, I'll have to make new pairs of aligners to continue wearing.

Oh yea. I can actually feel my bottom 2 wisdom tooth starting to grow :( My orthodontist suggested that we might have to do operate on them to remove it. Noooo I'm so scared of the pain!! But what to do.. #painisbeauty LOL better than risking my teeth going crooked again right. Maybe I should've started with extracting my teeth before the treatment started :(

Disclaimer: [Sponsored] I have received complimentary Invisalign treatment from Align Technology, Inc & Q&M Dental Surgery JB (Molek) after winning a contest organised by Invisalign & Nuffnang. In exchange for that, I have agreed to promote and write about my Invisalign story. The review is written based on my honest views and personal experiences on the treatment.
